A few years ago, solar was still a relatively new concept in the Sundarbans.

In collaboration with Mlinda, the SunSaluter team deployed three SunSaluters at the home of a community leader on K-Plot Island in the Sundarbans. In addition to providing the home with 30% more energy and ensuring the batteries are fully charged each day, these units will serve as demonstration units to teach other community members how to build their own SunSaluters.

The SunSaluters were originally installed on the ground, but due to concerns about potential theft, the frames were modified by the local community members to be mounted on poles instead.

The pole-mounted adaptation of SunSaluters in this community demonstrates the flexibility of the SunSaluter design.
